Messi the Maverick

A football extravaganza of 29 days and 64 matches came to a spectacular end. With big names biting dust and minnows like Morocco making their presence felt, it was Argentina which went from strength to strength to set up a clash of titans. They showed the class of teamwork, each one of them rose to occasion when the team needed the most. Messi the Maverick inspired the team and lead from the front.

The finals was a treat to watch. The 35-year-old Messi weaved his magic to go 2-0 up by half time. It was an intriguing match dominated by men in white and blue. But the late surge by the great Mbappe took the match to extra time. The next 30 mins were real tense moment with both team counter attacking, it was a spectacle to watch. Both the greats of the match scored a goal apiece which pushed the match to dreaded penalty.

It was time to hold the nerves. For Argentina it was do or die. The spirit to prove a point and lift the cup for their maestro far outweighed the class of France striker. The flawless execution of Argentinian striker and super save by goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez sealed the victory.

Finally, the most coveted trophy which had eluded the little master was in his hands. That brought to rest the debate that who is greatest footballer of all time.

Kudos to Qatar for hosting the mega event with jaw dropping brand new stadiums and executing everything to near perfection.
