Often when checking the room, I can meet all kinds of heart disease patients, and sometimes I will ask a few more questions to the serious heart failure: how much water I drank today, how much I urinated. Even for the more serious ones, it is necessary to record in detail the amount of in and out, that is to say, to record how much to eat and drink, how much to urinate and defecate.
Sometimes people without heart failure will ask: Doctor, why don’t you ask me how much I ate, drank and urinated? Why don’t you pay attention to me?
In fact, this is not the case.
Because not all heart disease have to ask how much to drink, how much to urinate.
First, there are many kinds of heart disease
Heart disease is a big concept, not the name of a disease, and heart-related diseases can be called heart disease. The most common heart disease is cardiovascular mainly coronary heart disease, heart beat mainly arrhythmia, heart valve related valvular heart disease, heart myocardium related cardiomyopathy.
Specific coronary heart disease is divided into exertional angina, unstable angina, myocardial infarction, asymptomatic coronary heart disease, heart failure, etc.; arrhythmia is divided into rapid and chronic arrhythmia, rapid arrhythmia includes atrial fibrillation, atrial tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, sinus tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation and so on; chronic arrhythmia includes sinus disease, atrioventricular block, sinus bradycardia, and so on; heart valve disease includes primary, secondary, senile and rheumatic and so on. Cardiomyopathy is divided into alcoholic cardiomyopathy, ischemic cardiomyopathy, dilated cardiomyopathy, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and so on.
Second, not all heart disease is concerned about drinking water and urine volume
Most of the heart disease, such as coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy at the beginning, valvular disease at the beginning and so on do not need to pay attention to drinking water and urine.
Only when cardiac insufficiency or heart failure occurs, should we pay attention to the amount of water and urine.
Third, what is heart failure
Heart failure is not strictly speaking the name of a heart disease, but a syndrome, that is, a variety of heart disease caused by a comprehensive result.
Most of the heart disease, if not actively formal treatment, may develop into heart failure.
For example, long-term uncontrolled high blood pressure leads to heart enlargement and heart failure;
For example, coronary heart disease without formal treatment, long-term ischemia, will lead to heart enlargement, heart failure;
For example, myocardial infarction is large in size, or the consultation is late without timely opening of blood vessels, it will lead to heart enlargement and heart failure;
For example, a variety of arrhythmias, if not controlled in time, long-term will also lead to heart enlargement, heart failure;
For example, progressive heart valve disease, such as a variety of cardiomyopathies, and so on will develop into heart failure.
Heart failure is simply the enlargement of the heart, the heart’s function can not, heart failure.
The most typical symptoms of heart failure are chest tightness, breathlessness, swelling of the lower extremities, abdominal distension and so on.
Chronic heart failure five-year mortality rate of 50%, serious heart failure one-year mortality rate of 50%.
Fourth, why heart failure should be concerned about drinking water and urine volume
The reason why heart failure chest tightness, breathlessness, can not lie down to rest, lower extremity swelling and so on performance, one of the main reasons is that the body water is more, the total intake of water more than the discharge of water, that naturally remain in the body of water more and more. These water need the heart to metabolize, so it will increase the burden on the heart. The heart itself is already failing, this time to increase the heart workload, undoubtedly worse, more and more water, naturally induced heart failure aggravation. Even induced acute heart failure, resulting in death.
So for heart failure, especially serious heart failure patients, to focus on the balance of access, that is, eating and drinking and pulling the urine and sweat evaporation of the basic balance, only balance to ensure that the body of water is relatively measured, will not suddenly increase the burden on the heart to ensure that the heart is stable, not induced heart failure.
Fifth, how to limit the drinking and pay attention to the amount of urine
The most accurate way is to weigh, that is, weigh every day, see if there is no weight, if heavy that the body of water more, need to increase diuretics, more row a little, and appropriate to drink a little less, reduce intake.
But it does not mean that people with heart failure to limit the drinking of water, at the very least, should ensure that the human body water the most basic guarantee of life, rather than not dare to drink, if the water can not guarantee the normal, there will be new problems. We just don’t drink more water on purpose.
Of course, we are not accustomed to measuring the weight, simply put, it is to see the amount of urine, a small amount of urine, indicating that the body is too much water, then you have to add diuretics, or properly reduce the amount of water to drink.
If you find swollen feet, or swelling of the lower limbs, that means that the body has a lot of water, you must consult a professional doctor to adjust the treatment.
In short, only patients with heart failure need to pay special attention to drinking water and urine output. At the same time, it is not necessary for heart failure patients to drink less water, as long as they do not drink too much water, and pay attention to measuring their weight or observing their urine output.
